ABOUT JANET AHERN
The youngest of seven children, Janet's family has always been an important influence in her life. They taught her life’s most important lessons: the value of hard work, the importance of compassion, and teamwork. Those qualities have made her an outstanding family law and personal injury attorney.
Janet earned a scholarship to Tulane University. She had a work-study job in the library and she worked after school at local restaurants to pay her room and board. Fresh out of law school, she served as an assistant district attorney for Orleans Parish. In private practice, she has been a partner in more than one law firm while building an impressive resume of nearly three decades working civil law matters in the courts, including family law, personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Janet is renowned among her colleagues for her work ethic, understanding, and professionalism on behalf of clients.
No one wants to end up in court, but when they have to go, Janet strives to make the court system work for her clients– not against them. It’s her unique combination of intelligence, hard work, and compassion that has made Janet one of the most respected attorneys in New Orleans. She has served as a Hearing Officer for the City of New Orleans, Board Member and leading champion of effective courts at CourtWatch NOLA, president and vice president of the Association for Women Attorneys, and president of the Family Mediation Council.
Attorney Janet Ahern handles all family law, personal injury, and wrongful death matters in the Greater New Orleans area.
